Don’t Dull the Sparkle.

Sequins
I’m on this positive, feel-good, girl power kick this week (as you can probably tell) and I’m all about the confidence. Which is totally unlike me…anyway, I was thinking about how tacky sequins can be (or ARE, 90% of the time), when my mind went on one of those purple-monkey-dishwasher tangents, and I ended up thinking not only about the sparkle of a dress, but of one’s personal sparkle. That little thing that makes them different, that makes them stand out, or that makes them beautiful in their own way. Fabulous fashion, like a fabulous person, always has a sparkle. Don’t take me literally – I’m not talking sequined leotards!

…Or am i? [Haha] Sorry, she just rocks that shit. My god. PS Loving winged liner. The above is probably overkill for most occasions, but it accentuates any eye and makes it look heavenly.

Sparkle

SATC2

We have to work on the sparkle.” – Carrie Bradshaw.
Words of a fashion idol, albeit a fictional one, referring to the sparkle in a relationship in the deepest way, and to the sparkle of a glamorous night out in the simplest. What am I saying? Take that outfit, and add something glam. Whether it’s that winged liner, those new pumps or that chunky necklace (that you got from Diva‘s nothing over $8 sale, seriously, go, run!).
My favourite? My outfit for work below – that cost a total of about $80 from Asos, and adorning with Diva necklace ($15) and the Michael Kors cuff that I got for a birthday from ShopBop. Voila. A little bit of Sparkle!
Asos
Dress
Opportunity to go to a charity ball or a formal work function? Grab the girls, buy a ten dollar bottle of Sav, and TAKE IT. You’re lying if you say you don’t like taking your sweet-ass time over two hours with the girls, snacks and drinks getting ready and dolled up – whether it’s at the YSL counter or from home on a budget. It’s fun, and it feels fantastic.
Shoes
Fringed dress
Basically…take the opportunity, add the accessory, wear that colour and no it doesn’t show too much leg. If you don’t think you’re fabulous, then no one else will either. Sparkle, ladies.
xx Karla
